The G240RC was designed as a direct improvement and replacement for the earlier G230RC model, addressing some known issues and enhancing performance. 
4-Bolt Cylinder Design: The most significant enhancement is the robust 4-bolt cylinder head design, which provides improved sealing and significantly reduces the risk of gasket blowouts common in the G230RC's 2-bolt design.
Enhanced Internals: It features a stronger, lighter crankcase with an additional crankshaft bearing, a lighter flywheel, and metal-impregnated insulator gaskets for better vibration resistance and sealing.
Performance: The engine provides a slightly increased power output and torque compared to its predecessor, with a displacement of 22.5cc, making it ideal for competitive 2WD racing classes where displacement is limited.
